On September 30, 2025, New Directions LINC 5/6 and LINC 6–8 students volunteered at the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event at Langley Derek Doubleday Arboretum, where they assisted with setup by placing lanterns along the Walk to Remember pathway; afterwards, some students, together with the New Directions Community Program Coordinator, gathered in front of the Afghanistan Memorial, which commemorates Canadian Forces personnel who lost their lives during the Canadian mission in Afghanistan (2002–2011).
