A donation of two Lenovo laptop computers was made by the local Langley Mennonite Fellowship church for the benefit of needy students at New Directions English Language School. The gift was presented by Farah, Childcare Coordinator, and Margaret Ann, Community Events Coordinator, to the two happy recipients, Aysha and Fadumo. Both came to school this past week to receive their laptops and to get orientation so they would be able to use their new devices immediately. They were absolutely thrilled!
Aysha attends the Pre-Lit/Foundations class at New Directions in Langley. The gift of a computer put a confident smile on her face as she realized that she is equipped with the tool necessary to study English at home and to communicate with others online.
Fadumo attends the LINC 1/2 class at New Directions English Language School. Her teacher wrote the following after receiving a Skype call from her using the new laptop, "What an absolute joy it was to get a Skype call from Fadumo this morning! It was very exciting and lovely to see her smiling and happy."
